<p>The Harwin D2840-42 is a 40-position (2x20) dual row DIP IC socket designed for through-hole mounting. It features a 2.54mm (0.100") contact pitch and 15.24mm (0.6") row spacing, making it suitable for standard 40-pin DIP packages.</p><p> </p><p>The socket uses beryllium copper contacts with gold flash on the contact area and tin on the solder terminations. The housing is glass-filled thermoplastic, providing durability and high temperature resistance. The open frame design allows for airflow and inspection of solder joints.</p><p> </p><p>Electrical ratings include a maximum current of 3A per contact (single contact loaded at 25°C) and a maximum voltage of 100V rms / 150V DC. Contact resistance is 10mΩ initial, and insulation resistance is 10,000MΩ minimum. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C.</p>
