The Micropac Industries 3N261 is an optocoupler featuring an infrared LED coupled to a silicon phototransistor within a hermetic 4-lead TO-18 package. This component is designed for high reliability and stability over a wide temperature range, operating from -55°C to +125°C.

 

Key electrical specifications include a 1000V input-to-output voltage rating, a 40V Collector-Emitter breakdown voltage, and a 7V Emitter-Collector breakdown voltage. The device can handle up to 40mA continuous forward current for the input LED and 20mA continuous collector current for the phototransistor. The 3N261 is electrically similar to the 4N47, 4N48, and 4N49 series. Its design includes an eliminated base lead for improved noise immunity. The collector of the phototransistor is in electrical contact with the case.
