With a resolution of 0.1 mg, this checkweighing scale is ideally suited for checking small samples for their weight. For example, powder can be weighed with the fine scale. Typical areas of application for the checkweighing scale are therefore in laboratories or in research facilities. Weighing the smallest samples is very difficult because even a small gust of wind falsifies the measured value. For this reason, a wind shield is installed around the weighing surface of the checkweighing scale. This ensures that even the smallest gusts of wind have no effect on the measurement of the checkweighing scale.
The checkweighing scale can be connected directly to a PC via the RS232 interface. With the optionally available software for the checkweighing scale, the measurement data can be presented in a table. A graphic representation of the measured values from the checkweighing scale is also possible with the software. There is also the option of exporting the measured values recorded by the checkweighing scale. In this way, the measured values of the checkweighing scale can be conveniently incorporated into presentations, sent by email or simply printed out.
If necessary, the checkweighing scale can be checked with the calibration weight supplied. This ensures that the checkweighing scale delivers a perfect measurement result. The checkweighing scale can also be adjusted by the operator in a very short time using the calibration weight.
With the built-in bubble level, the current positioning of the checkweighing scale can be determined at an installation location. If the positioning of the checkweighing scale is not suitable, this can be readjusted using the height-adjustable feet. This ensures that the checkweighing scale is properly aligned with the current installation location.

The main purpose of cosmetics production is not only to make good-smelling products with good-sounding names and lists of beneficial ingredients, but to make them efficient so that these products really improve the condition of the skin or hair and in no way damage them.
The pH measurement in cosmetics is a priority test that should be performed not only to ensure that the pH of the product matches the pH of the skin, but also to ensure good quality, suitable viscosity, color / odor and to ensure durability of the cosmetics.
A too acidic or too alkaline medium in shampoo can, for example, lead to a disorder and cause scalp problems. Therefore, the pH value in cosmetics is strictly and continuously monitored and not only in the final product. It is important to understand that monitoring is required at all stages: first in the raw materials and all the ingredients, then during the production process and finally in the finished shampoo application, gel / dye / foam that are on the shelves of the supermarkets. Here, it is necessary to fulfill the requirements and regulations of health organizations and GMP principles.
Many of us have experienced at least once that after a short while the pleasant smell of the foam worsens, even though in the beginning everything was fine. This is proof that the manufacturer made mistakes during the production process and perhaps did not pay enough attention to measuring and correcting the pH. The cosmetic product should not only be perfect on the day of its manufacture and meet the standard, it should also have a very good stability. Today, many hair and facial products are presented as "BIO". Manufacturers of such products need to remember that making such a product is much harder. The natural ingredients that make the product "BIO" can be quite capricious.
When talking about standard cosmetic products (both hair and skin), the ideal pH is between 4.5 ... 5.5. Depending on the skin type for which the product is intended, and also on the function of the product (refers to chemical substances, hair dyes, strong hair and body sprays), the values may be lower and higher.
The use of a pH meter with a special glass electrode is one of the well-known methods of pH measurement in cosmetics. The pH meter ensures that you get reliable results when taking measurements in shampoo, liquid cleansing toners and foams, gels and many other substances (containing water).
pH meters used for cosmetics are often portable, very easy to use, light in weight and easy to handle. The glass electrode is perfect on the one hand because it is always easy to keep clean, but on the other hand a glass electrode requires careful handling because of its fragility. Modern electrodes receive special protection, such as "a coat" around them, which makes them very sturdy.
The application of the pH electrode requires attention and careful adjustment. It is necessary to follow all rules regarding the application, cleaning and maintenance of this sensitive instrument. Although the pH tests are carried out on the additives or finished product of the shampoo, it is imperative to maintain the required ambient temperature, as their deviation can lead to erroneous measurements.
The pH and maintenance of the efficacy of cosmetics is one of the reasons why such products should be stored at certain temperatures. Some of them should not be refrigerated or exposed to direct sunlight and excessively warm temperatures.

The soil pH meter is used to measure the soil pH value. The pH and temperature can be stored directly on the SD card. The special pH electrode of the pH meter is manufactured so that it is possible to measure with the pH meter in loosened soil. Temperature compensation is either manual or automatic via the supplied temperature sensor.
Please always make sure that the measuring principle requires a minimum residual moisture in the soil. Thus, this soil pH meter is the ideal solution for the accurate measurement of soil pH, in substrates, for horticultural irrigation solutions used in greenhouses and also in agricultural products and plants.
The meter is always factory calibrated. A continuous recalibration of the pH meter is carried out by means of the supplied calibration standards (buffer solutions). The calibration data remains stored when the battery is changed. In general, you can simply pierce the electrode into the ground and read the pH directly on the digital display. If you would like to carry out a measurement according to DIN or if you can not penetrate deep enough into the soil due to soil hardness, then you should prepare a DIN soil solution and use it for the exact measurement.
Professional gardeners as well as environmentalists know how much depends on the condition of the soil. Depending on its composition it may be very fertile, or absolutely inappropriate for cultivation. pH level (acidity) of the soil, together with the temperature, moisture content and of course amount of light determine the quality of the soil, in the garden, on the fields, in the greenhouses, winter gardens, on the terrace, flowers beds or in the pots at home. pH meter with a thin electrode is applicable anywhere where pH value of a soil sample should be measured. Due to the thin long tip, penetrating the soil is very easy, and the measurement is immediate. The results indicate whether certain measures should be taken to change a too acidic or too alkalic medium in the soil and to adjust it in correspondence with the plans that are growing or will be growing in the soil. Not all kinds of plants require the same soil. And there is no ideal standard which all the gardeners should strive for. Neutral pH for soil is between 6.5 to 7, but there are many agricultural cultures that need 6 and even 5. A correctly prepared soil sample is sufficient for getting a reliable result and making a conclusion about the soil condition. Electrode should be handled with care and possible not applied in the sample with stones or rock particles, since it may damage the glass. Correct cleaning after measuring procedure and storage allow to apply the same electrode over a longer time period.

The special pH electrode of the pH meter is particularly flat and made of epoxy, which makes the pH electrode particularly resistant to impact. Temperature compensation is either manual or automatic via the supplied temperature sensor.
In addition to the measurement of the pH value of surfaces, the pH meter can also be used to measure very small sample volumes from .1 ml upwards. For this, the surface pH meter is supplied with a special measuring cuvette. This cuvette can be plugged directly onto the electrode of the pH meter.

The wine pH meter is a very easy-to-use handheld pH / mV / °C meter. The pH value and the temperature can be saved directly on the SD card (Excel file) or transferred directly from the pH meter to a PC via the RS-232 interface. For this purpose, we optionally offer software and the appropriate RS-232 interface cable as accessories. The temperature compensation takes place either manually or automatically using the temperature sensor supplied.
All of this allows a quick and reliable pH measurement. The pH meter has a three-point calibration, which is carried out automatically. The combination measuring device can be used to determine the pH value, the temperature or the REDOX potential (ORP). For the latter measurement parameter, however, a REDOX electrode must be ordered additionally. Here we recommend the ORP electrode ORP-14. The durometer impresses with its large measuring range, easy handling, robust design and temperature resistance down to -20°C/-4°F. In addition to the hardness in Rockwell, Brinell and Vickers, the durometer can also be used to determine the tensile strength of steels up to 1740 MPa. The uci durometer has a manual test probe with a test force of 50N as standard, with this probe it is possible to measure from all directions in space without a correction factor.
Another advantage of the durometer is its NDT feature. At the tip of the probe there is a Vickers diamond which is excited in the ultrasonic frequency range. If the diamond touches the test piece surface during the hardness test, the vibration is damped. The resulting frequency shift is directly related to the surface hardness of the test piece. Due to the low test forces, the penetration depths of the diamond are very small, which is why only an almost invisible impression remains.
The uci durometer is therefore used for checking small thin-walled components, for surface-hardened test specimens or for nitrided components. The durometer has also proven itself in the measurement of weld seams and the inspection of components with complex geometries.
In addition to the UCI measuring method, the durometer can also be equipped with a rebound tester. This allows the durometer to be upgraded to a Leeb durometer.
The universal durometer combines the advantages of two methods: Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) and Dynamic Rebound (Leeb). This allows the user to solve almost any field hardness testing task.
The universal durometerr enables express hardness testing of carbon and structural steels, welds, electroplated coatings, overlays, heat resistant, corrosion resistant and stainless steels, hardness measurement of hardened surfaces, thin-walled hardened parts, even in hard-to-reach places and at any angle.

With a dynamic type D probe (Leeb probe), the user can test the hardness of solid parts with rough surfaces. The instrument can be equipped with additional interchangeable probes with different dimensions and spring stiffnesses.

The sound level meter is a small handheld device with many functions such as peak measurement, Leq value calculation and adjustable measuring ranges. The clamp force tester is a 4-point force meter that can ensure the optimal clamp force distribution.
For the transport of white goods (refrigerators, washing machines, etc.) and brown goods (consumer electronics), larger and larger large area clamps are being used. The aim is to be able to move as many goods as possible safely in one work step. To ensure this, the clamp arms are designed with multiple adjustment points, giving the user the ability to evenly distribute the clamping force across the load.
The device clamp tester was developed precisely for this purpose. The clamp force tester simultaneously determines the compressive forces / clamp forces that occur at 4 different measuring points.
Each of these 4 force sensors can record a maximum force of up to 3t. The force is shown on the color display of the 4-point measuring carriage with a resolution of 1 kg. The force of each individual sensor and the totals of several sensors are displayed and also shown as a percentage in relation to the total force. The forces can be displayed in kg / N / kN and lb.
In this way, the user can quickly and easily check and adjust the force distribution of the large area clamp. The operator and the device clamp identification number can be entered in the clamp force tester, which can then be printed out with the measured values and optionally saved on a USB stick in tabular form. This helps in documenting the checked device clips and is used by many service providers in calibration as well as regular recalibration.
Another function of the measuring carriage is the possibility of setting a target value for the respective measuring point and the total force. If this value falls below or is exceeded, the display shows this in color and can quickly point out a problem to the operator.
The four measuring points of the force tester can be easily moved and can thus be adapted to the different attachments. The device clamp tester is operated with a rechargeable battery, which enables mobile use.

With the Abbe refractometer you get a measuring device for fast and precise determination of the refractive index nD between 1.300 and 1.700. The Abbe refractometer also measures the sugar content of translucent liquids, dispersions, emulsions or other substances. Using the supplied thermometer, the refractive index can be determined for a temperature range of 0 ... 70°C / 32 ... 158°F. In order to control the temperature of the device, adapters for water hoses are attached to both sides of the Abbe refractometer on the upper and lower prism holders, which allow temperature control by means of an external thermostat. With this Abbe refractometer you can e.g. carry out an exact determination of the sugar content in the range 0 ... 95% (1.333 ... 1.531). The area of application is much wider: measurement and analysis of fats, oils, paints, varnishes, foodstuffs, chemical substances, alcohol and solvents.
How does an Abbe refractometer work?
A refractometer serves as a measuring device with which you can determine the refractive index. This works with both liquid and solid substances, as long as they are transparent, with the help of refractometry. After the sample has been applied to the refractometer, special optics in the refractometer create opposite light-dark fields, the borderline between the two fields is the measurement result of the sample.
Roughly speaking, one can differentiate between three measuring methods of a refractometer:
- Transmitted light
- Grazing incidence
- Total reflection
For this purpose, the refraction, i.e. the refraction or total reflection of the light and its physical properties are used. The common denominator of the three measuring principles presented is the measuring prism with a known refractive index. Light has the property that it does not move at the same speed at the transition between the measuring prism and the sample medium, but propagates at different speeds. The unknown refractive index of the medium to be measured is measured via the light deflection.
- With the transmitted light principle, a parallel beam of light is refracted at the interface between the two media.
- In the case of grazing incidence and total reflection, the critical angle of a beam is
measured with different angles of incidence on the interface.
The measurement result is most accurate at 20°C / 68°F, so the temperature should always be determined and the distortions determined using a correction table. However, there are also refractometers that have an automatic temperature correction which of course greatly increases the measuring comfort.
What is the Abbe refractometer used for?
Many applications aim to determine the concentration in a carrier medium. A traditional example is the determination of the sugar content in mostly aqueous solutions. For example, by determining the sugar concentration of a grape, its degree of ripeness can be determined, which makes it interesting for winemakers. The refractometer can also measure the original wort when brewing beer and the water content in honey. But a refractometer can also be a real aid in industry, for example the oil-water concentration in cooling emulsion mixtures in metalworking machines or the acid concentration in batteries can be determined. A refractometer can also be found in medicine, for example the protein content in urine can be measured. There are many other areas of application in which a refractometer is useful and greatly simplifies work. In order to ensure comparability of the results, separate scales have now been established (degrees Oechsle, degrees Brix, degrees Plato). Refractometers are mostly equipped with the double scale % mas sucrose (Brix)/°Oe or triple scale % mas sucrose (Brix)/°Oe/KMW-Babo. The % mas sucrose (Brix) scale is valid internationally. The Oechsle scale 0-140°Oe is valid for fruit juices, foreign grape musts and distilling mashes. For German grape musts only the Oechsle scale 30-140°Oe is valid. The Air Sampler uses the aerosol impaction principle or Andersen collision principle to assess air quality. The air taken in at the top of the instrument is pulled through 300 micropores and the resulting laminar air flow is directed onto the surface of an agar petri dish. When the sampling cycle is complete, the petri dish is removed and incubated. The bacterial and fungal counts can then be assessed in accordance with USP 797 and CAG-009 guidance.
The collecting head should be sterilized in an autoclave at 121°C / 249.8°F for 30 minutes (sterilization with a cloth with 75% alcohol is also possible.) The petri dish should also be sterilized with 75% alcohol.

The housing of the dynamometer is made of robust metal. This means that the dynamometer can be used in a harsh environment. It is operated on the side of the dynamometer via the control panel. For example, the unit can be set or the zero point can be reset using the keypad. With a digit height of 41 mm and the adjustable background lighting, the dynamometer can be read easily from a great distance and in a dark environment.
A remote control is included as an extension so that the hanging scales can be operated from a great distance. Additional settings such as the background lighting, the totalizing function or the automatic switch-off of the dynamometer can be made via the remote control.
With the additional totalizing function, weights attached one after the other can be displayed totaled by the hanging scales. In addition to the mass units kg and lb, a user-specific unit can be set for the dynamometer. This is done by entering a multiplier based on the kg value measured by the force meter. The energy-saving electronics in the dynamometer enable continuous measurement for approx. 45 hours. The force gauge can optionally be equipped with an ISO calibration certificate.

The crane scale was developed for in-house weighing of up to 30 t. The crane scale has a massive shackle on the top and a rotatable hook with a safety catch on the underside. The crane scale is operated using the infrared remote control supplied. The 5-digit LED display has a digit height of approx. 75 mm, so that the readings can be read from a distance without any problems. The integrated battery of the crane scale ensures an operating time of over 40 hours. The battery level can be checked at any time. If it is low, the display of the crane scale also starts to flash, so that it is easy for the operator to see when the battery needs to be charged.
The crane scale also offers other useful functions. The tare function enables weights to be tared (e.g. slings such as ropes, chains, etc.). If the weight of the objects to be tared is known, this can also be entered manually in advance. Another useful function of the crane scale is the totalizing function. Several weights can be added and the sum read out. The display hold function can also be used to freeze measured values on the display.

The Thickness Gauge has a measuring range of 0 ... 2000 µm. The Thickness Gauge can measure the coating thickness on ferrous (Fe) and non-ferrous (NFe) metals. For a better analysis of the measurements, the coating thickness gauge has a measuring function based on the SSPC standards. With this function, the corrosion protection of a coating can be checked with the Thickness Gauge.
The Group function stores the measured values directly on the Thickness Gauge. A memory of 50 groups with 50 measurements each is available on the Thickness Gauge. In each group, statistics are created for all measured values from the Thickness Gauge. All measurement data and statistics can be recalled after a measurement run on the Thickness Gauge.
For further analysis of the measured values, the Thickness Gauge can be connected to a PC. The Thickness Gauge has a micro-USB interface for this purpose. The software can be used to transfer the measurement data from the Thickness Gauge to a PC. In addition, it is possible to carry out live measurements with the Thickness Gauge using the software. For further processing of the measured values from the Thickness Gauge, they can be exported in CSV and XLS format via the software.
In addition to the coating thickness measurement, the Thickness Gauge can measure the temperature and humidity of the environment. Thus, the Thickness Gauge can be used to find out whether the climatic conditions are right to carry out further processing on the coating.
With the V-groove, the coating thickness of, for example, pipes can also be determined with the Thickness Gauge.
