The CD4016B from TOS is a CMOS quad bilateral switch designed for the transmission or multiplexing of analog or digital signals. Each of the four independent switches can be controlled by a single signal input, allowing for simultaneous biasing of both p and n devices to turn the switch on or off.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical on-state resistance of 280Ω at 15V operation, a high on/off output-voltage ratio of 65dB typical at 10kHz, and a high degree of linearity with less than 0.5% distortion typical at 1kHz. The device offers a typical frequency response of 40MHz when the switch is on. It also features extremely low off-state switch leakage of 100pA typical at 18V and 25°C, contributing to very low offset current and high effective off-state resistance.
With a 20V digital or ±10V peak-to-peak switching capability, the CD4016B is suitable for various applications including analog signal switching, multiplexing, signal gating, modulator squelch control, demodulator choppers, commutating switches, and digital signal switching. It can also be used in CMOS logic implementation and for analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.
The CD4016B is available in a 14-lead dual-in-line plastic package (PDIP) with a package size of 19.3mm x 9.4mm. Mounting is through hole.
