The Infineon BTS71033-6ESA is a Serial Interface Power Controller (SPOC™ +2) designed for automotive applications. It integrates high-side switching with comprehensive diagnosis and protection functions, built on Infineon's SMART7 technology.
This device is suitable for driving resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, replacing electromechanical relays and discrete circuits. It offers driving capability for 3 A and 1.5 A loads, including high inrush current applications like 27W or 10W LED modules. Key electrical specifications include a minimum operating voltage of 4.1 V (3.1 V during cranking) and a maximum operating voltage of 28 V. The digital supply voltage is compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic.
Protection features include absolute and dynamic temperature limitation, overcurrent protection with programmable restart control, undervoltage shutdown, and overvoltage protection with external components. Diagnostic features provide proportional load current sensing, open load detection in ON and OFF states, and short circuit detection to ground and battery, all reported via an SPI interface. The device is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
