The Infineon BTS7012-2EPA is a smart high-side power switch designed for automotive applications. It integrates protection functions and diagnosis capabilities, making it suitable for replacing electromechanical relays, fuses, and discrete circuits.
This device operates within a voltage range of 4.1V to 28V, with a minimum cranking voltage of 3.1V. It features overvoltage protection up to 35V and can handle nominal load currents of 6A at 85°C. The switch includes protection against overcurrent, undervoltage, and temperature limitations, with intelligent restart control.
Diagnostic features include proportional load current sensing and detection of open loads and short circuits to ground or battery. The BTS7012-2EPA is part of the PROFET™ +2 12V family and is built using SMART7 technology. It is qualified for automotive applications according to AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
The device comes in a PG-TSDSO-14 package. It is designed for resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, and is capable of handling high inrush current loads such as H4 55W lamps or equivalent electronic loads like LED modules.
