The ADuM1401CRWZ is a quad-channel digital isolator based on Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology. It combines high-speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology to provide superior performance compared to traditional optocouplers, eliminating design challenges related to current transfer ratios and temperature effects.
This isolator supports high data rates up to 90 Mbps (NRZ) and features precise timing characteristics with a maximum pulse width distortion of 2 ns and channel-to-channel matching of 2 ns. It offers high common-mode transient immunity of greater than 25 kV/µs. The device is qualified for automotive applications and operates at high temperatures up to 125°C.
Power consumption is low, with maximum ratings of 1.0 mA per channel at 5V and 0 Mbps to 2 Mbps, and 31 mA per channel at 5V and 90 Mbps. Similar low power consumption is noted for 3V operation. The ADuM1401CRWZ provides 3 V/5 V level translation and includes an output enable function.
It is supplied in a 16-lead SOIC wide body package suitable for surface mounting. Safety and regulatory approvals include UL recognition for 2500 V rms for 1 minute and VDE certification with a peak working voltage of 560 V peak.
