The Vishay VCNL4030X01-GS08 is a fully integrated proximity and ambient light sensor designed for various applications. It combines photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital converting circuits into a single CMOS chip.
This sensor offers a 16-bit high-resolution ambient light sensor (ALS) and a proximity sensor (PS) with an intelligent cancellation scheme to eliminate crosstalk. It supports an I2C (SMBus compatible) interface for easy operation and includes a programmable interrupt function for power savings.
The VCNL4030X01-GS08 operates within a voltage range of 2.5 V to 3.6 V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. It is packaged in a lead-free 8-pin QFN package, suitable for surface mounting.
Key features include Filtron™ technology for robust background light cancellation and excellent temperature compensation. The proximity sensor also incorporates a smart persistence feature for reliable detection.
