The Vishay Dale VCNL3030X01-GS08 is a fully integrated proximity sensor featuring an infrared emitter (IRED) and an I2C interface, housed in a compact 4.0 x 2.36 x 0.75 mm surface-mount package.
This sensor incorporates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital converting circuits on a single chip. It offers a programmable interrupt function with individual high and low thresholds, enabling power savings for microcontrollers. The proximity function includes immunity to red glow from the 940 nm IRED, intelligent cancellation to reduce crosstalk, and a smart persistence scheme to minimize response time. It supports selectable 12-bit or 16-bit output data for proximity and ambient light.
