TJA1050T/N Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The NXP TJA1050T/CM,118 is a high-speed CAN transceiver that serves as the interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical bus. It provides differential transmit and receive capabilities, supporting data rates up to 1 Mbaud. This transceiver is fully compatible with the ISO 11898 standard and features very low electromagnetic emission (EME) and high electromagnetic immunity (EMI) due to its differential receiver with a wide common-mode range.

Designed for demanding environments, the TJA1050T/CM,118 operates within a supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V and has bus pins protected against transients. It is suitable for use in nodes that may be unpowered in partially powered networks, as an unpowered node does not disturb the bus lines. The device also includes a transmit data (TXD) dominant time-out function and a silent mode where the transmitter is disabled.

Packaged in a SOT96-1 surface-mount case, this transceiver is ideal for automotive and industrial applications requiring reliable CAN communication. Its features include thermal protection, short-circuit proofing to battery and ground, and the ability to connect at least 110 nodes.
