The TJA1043TKY from NXP Semiconductors is a third-generation high-speed CAN transceiver. It provides a physical interface between a CAN protocol controller and the two-wire CAN bus, suitable for automotive industry applications.
This transceiver implements the CAN physical layer as defined in ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 to SAE J2284-5, enabling reliable communication in the CAN FD fast phase at data rates up to 5 Mbit/s. It is designed for 12V and 24V systems and can be interfaced directly with microcontrollers operating from 3V to 5V.
Key features include low-power management with local and remote wake-up capabilities, protection and diagnostic functions such as bus line short-circuit detection, and passive behavior when the supply voltage is turned off. The TJA1043TKY offers improved ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) performance.
It is available in a 14-HVSON (3x4.5) package and is surface mountable. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 150°C.
