The S5BC-13 is a 5.0A surface mount glass passivated rectifier diode from Diodes Incorporated, part of the S5AC-S5MC series. It features a peak repetitive reverse voltage (VRRM) of 100V and an average rectified output current (IO) of 5A at +75°C. The device offers a non-repetitive peak forward surge current (IFSM) rating of 100A (8.3ms) and 200A (1.0ms), making it suitable for applications requiring high surge capability.
This rectifier is designed for automated assembly and is housed in a molded plastic SMC (DO-214AB) case with UL 94V-0 flammability rating. The terminals have a matte tin finish, and the device is RoHS compliant, halogen and antimony free. The operating temperature range is -65°C to +150°C, and the typical thermal resistance from junction to terminal is 10°C/W when mounted on a PC board with 5.0mm² copper pad.
Typical applications include power supply rectification, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection circuits where standard recovery speed is acceptable. The S5BC-13 is supplied in tape and reel packaging with 3000 units per reel.
