The PMEG4050EP,115 is a 40V, 5A low VF Schottky barrier rectifier from Nexperia, designed for high efficiency power conversion. It features a planar Schottky barrier with an integrated guard ring for stress protection, encapsulated in a small and flat lead SOD128 (CFP5) surface-mount plastic package.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical forward voltage of 430mV and maximum of 490mV at 5A, reverse leakage current of 60µA typical and 300µA maximum at 40V, and a typical capacitance of 600pF. The device can handle non-repetitive peak forward current up to 70A and has a maximum junction temperature of 150°C.
The clip-bond technology provides high power capability in a compact package. Thermal resistance is 200K/W junction-to-ambient and 60K/W junction-to-solder point, aiding thermal management in PCB designs.
Typical applications include low voltage rectification, high efficiency DC-to-DC conversion, switch mode power supplies, reverse polarity protection, and low power consumption designs. The SOD128 package is suitable for both reflow and wave soldering processes.
