The PESD5V0L1BSF,315 is a bidirectional ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) protection diode designed by Nexperia. It is housed in an ultra-small SOD962 leadless surface-mount package (0201/0603 metric) and is intended to protect a single signal line from ESD and other transient overvoltage events.
This device offers a reverse standoff voltage of 5.5V and a clamping voltage of 13.5V. It can handle peak pulse currents up to 3A (8/20 µs waveform) with a peak pulse power rating of 35W. The diode features a low typical capacitance of 12 pF at 1 MHz, making it suitable for high-speed signal lines. It provides ESD protection up to ±30 kV for both contact and air discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, as well as ±30 kV HBM per MIL-STD-883.
Typical applications include cellular handsets, portable electronics, communication systems, computers, and peripherals. The bidirectional configuration allows for protection of lines where the signal can swing above and below ground. The symmetrical breakdown voltage ensures consistent performance in both directions.
The device is supplied in a leadless ultra-small SOD962 package with dimensions of 0.6 x 0.3 x 0.3 mm, suitable for space-constrained designs. It is Pb-free, RoHS compliant, and halogen and antimony free (Dark Green compliant). The operating temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
