NPS42-M

The Artesyn Embedded Power NPS40-M series, including the NPS42-M model, offers open-frame AC-DC power supplies designed for information technology equipment (ITE) and light industrial systems, as well as low-power medical, dental, and laboratory applications. This series features medical and ITE safety approvals, a universal input voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC, and a compact 2" x 4" footprint.

The NPS42-M provides a single 5V output with a maximum power of 40W under convection cooling, increasing to 55W with forced air. It operates with an input power of less than 74W and boasts high efficiency, typically 80% for the NPS42-M. Key features include adjustable output voltage, remote sense capability, overload and short circuit protection, and a built-in EMI filter compliant with CISPR 22 Class B standards.

Designed for reliability, the NPS40-M series has a demonstrated MTBF of over 550,000 hours at full load and 25°C. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C ambient, with derating up to 80°C. The power supplies comply with International Efficiency Level V, Energy Star 2.0, and CEC standards (except NPS42-M), and have a no-load power consumption of less than 300 mW.

This open-frame converter is suitable for chassis mounting and meets various safety agency approvals including CB, CCC, CE, CSA, UL, and TUV. It is also RoHS compliant.
