MOC3041

The MOC3041 is an optocoupler from Isocom Components that integrates a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode with a monolithic silicon detector to perform the function of a Zero Voltage Crossing bilateral triac driver. This device is designed for use with a triac in the interface of logic systems to equipment powered from 115 Vac lines, such as solid-state relays, industrial controls, motors, solenoids, and consumer appliances.

Key electrical specifications include a maximum Off-State Output Terminal Voltage of 400V, a peak repetitive surge current of 1A, and a typical dv/dt rating of 2000 V/μs. The infrared emitting diode has a continuous forward current of 60 mA and a reverse voltage of 6V. The total device power dissipation is rated at 250 mW at 25°C.

This optocoupler is recommended for 115/240 Vac(rms) applications including solenoid/valve controls, temperature controls, lighting controls, E.M. Contactors, static power switches, AC motor starters, AC motor drives, and solid-state relays. It simplifies logic control of 115 Vac power and features zero voltage crossing.

The MOC3041 is available in a standard through-hole package. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, with a junction temperature range of -40°C to +100°C.
