The QTC MCT2 is a standard single-channel optocoupler designed for various applications requiring signal isolation. It comprises a gallium arsenide infrared LED and a silicon NPN phototransistor.
Key electrical specifications include a 5300 V RMS isolation test voltage and an input-output coupling capacitance of less than 0.5 pF. The device supports a maximum forward current of 60 mA and a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 70 V. It is suitable for applications such as AC mains detection, reed relay driving, switch mode power supply feedback, telephone ring detection, logic ground isolation, and logic coupling with high-frequency noise rejection.
The MCT2 is supplied in an industry-standard dual-in-line 6-pin package (DIP-6) suitable for through-hole mounting. It is also available in lead-formed configurations for surface mounting, and can be supplied on tape and reel or in standard tube shipping containers.
This component is lead-free and compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC directives. Agency approvals include UL1577 and DIN EN 60747-5-2.
