The MBRD320RL is a Schottky barrier rectifier from On Semiconductor designed for use as output rectifiers, free wheeling, protection, and steering diodes in switching power supplies, inverters, and other inductive switching circuits. It features extremely fast switching, extremely low forward drop, and platinum barrier with avalanche guardrings.
Key electrical ratings include a DC blocking voltage of 20V, average rectified forward current of 3A, and peak repetitive forward current of 6A. The forward voltage is typically 0.45V at 3A and 125°C, with a maximum of 0.6V at 3A and 25°C. Reverse leakage current is 0.2mA maximum at 25°C and 20mA at 125°C. The device can handle a nonrepetitive peak surge current of 75A.
Thermal characteristics include a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 6°C/W and junction-to-ambient of 80°C/W, allowing operation over a case temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. Storage temperature range is -65°C to 175°C.
