The MBR360RL from ON Semiconductor is a Schottky barrier rectifier diode featuring a large area metal-to-silicon power diode construction. It offers state-of-the-art geometry with epitaxial construction, oxide passivation, and metal overlap contact. This device is ideally suited for use as rectifiers in low-voltage, high-frequency inverters, free-wheeling diodes, and polarity protection diodes.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum DC blocking voltage of 60V and an average rectified forward current of 3A at 65°C. The diode exhibits extremely low forward voltage (VF) drop, with a maximum of 0.600V at 1A, contributing to its high efficiency and low power loss. It also features a low instantaneous reverse current, measuring 0.60mA at 25°C and 20mA at 100°C.
Mechanically, the MBR360RL comes in an axial package (DO-201AA, DO-27) designed for through-hole mounting. The epoxy molded case weighs approximately 1.1 grams, and all external surfaces are corrosion-resistant with readily solderable terminal leads. The operating and storage junction temperature range is from -65°C to +150°C. The lead temperature for soldering purposes is a maximum of 260°C for 10 seconds.
This rectifier diode is designed for applications requiring high efficiency and low power dissipation. Its Schottky barrier principle ensures majority carrier conduction, resulting in low stored charge and fast switching characteristics.
