The MAX1811ESA+T is a single-cell lithium-ion battery charger IC designed by Analog Devices. It offers a 0.5% overall battery regulation voltage accuracy, allowing for maximum utilization of battery capacity. The device can be powered directly from a USB port or an external supply up to 6.5V.
This charger utilizes an internal FET to deliver up to 500mA charging current. It can be configured for either a 4.1V or 4.2V battery using the SELV input, and the SELI input sets the charge current to 100mA or 500mA. The MAX1811 includes preconditioning to soft-start near-depleted battery cells before initiating full charging. Safety features include continuous monitoring of voltage and current, and initial fault condition checking.
The MAX1811ESA+T is available in a thermally enhanced 8-pin SO package, suitable for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
