The JANTXV1N6638 is a JANTXV qualified fast recovery switching diode manufactured by Microchip Technology. It is designed for high-speed switching applications, offering a reverse recovery time of 20 ns and a low capacitance of 2.5 pF at 0V. The diode has a working peak reverse voltage of 125 V and can handle an average rectified forward current of 300 mA at +75°C. Forward voltage is typically 1.1 V at 200 mA.
This diode is housed in a hermetically sealed D-5D axial lead package, suitable for through-hole mounting. The package is non-cavity glass construction with tin-lead termination finish. It operates over a wide temperature range from -65°C to 175°C, with thermal resistance junction-to-lead of 150°C/W and junction-to-ambient of 250°C/W.
Typical applications include high-frequency data lines, RS-232/RS-422 interfaces, Ethernet 10 Base T, switching core drivers, and computers. The JANTXV1N6638 can replace general-purpose diodes like 1N4148, 1N914 in many circuits. Note that RoHS compliance is available only on commercial grade versions, not this JANTXV military grade, which has tin-lead terminals.
