The HEF4094B is an 8-bit serial-in/serial or parallel-out shift register featuring a storage register and 3-state outputs. This device operates with a wide supply voltage range from 3.0 V to 15.0 V, making it suitable for various applications. It supports fully static operation and offers high noise immunity.
The shift register has a serial input (D) and two serial outputs (QS1 and QS2) for cascading. Data is shifted on the LOW-to-HIGH transitions of the clock input (CP). The data in the shift register is transferred to the storage register when the STR input is HIGH. Data appears at the outputs when the output enable input (OE) is HIGH; a LOW on OE causes the outputs to enter a high-impedance OFF-state.
This component is specified for operation across a wide temperature range, from -40 °C to +125 °C. It is available in a 16-SSOP package, suitable for surface mount applications. The device also includes clamp diodes, enabling the use of current-limiting resistors for interfacing inputs to voltages exceeding VDD.
