The HEF4060BT from Philips (now NXP Semiconductors) is a versatile 14-stage ripple-carry binary counter/divider and oscillator. It is designed for applications requiring precise counting and division functionalities.
This integrated circuit includes ten buffered outputs (O3 to O9 and O11 to O13) and an asynchronous master reset input (MR). The oscillator configuration supports both RC and crystal oscillator circuits, or an external clock signal can be applied to the RS input. The counter advances on the negative-going transition of the RS input, and a high level on the MR input resets the counter outputs to low.
Key electrical characteristics include propagation delays as low as 12 ns and output transition times as fast as 6 ns at 15V. The maximum clock frequency can reach up to 30 MHz at 15V. The device exhibits Schmitt-trigger action at the clock input, providing tolerance to slower clock rise and fall times.
The HEF4060BT is available in a 16-lead SOIC (Surface Mount) package, making it suitable for various electronic designs.
