DS2152L

The DS2152L from Dallas Semiconductor is an enhanced T1 single-chip transceiver designed for complete DS1/ISDN-PRI functionality. This device supports both long- and short-haul trunks and features a crystal-less jitter attenuator. It can generate DSX-1 and CSU line build-outs and frame to D4, ESF, and SLC-96 R formats.

Key features include dual on-board two-frame elastic store slip buffers, an 8-bit parallel control port, and the ability to extract and insert robbed-bit signaling. The DS2152L detects and generates yellow (RAI) and blue (AIS) alarms, and offers programmable output clocks for fractional T1. It boasts fully independent transmit and receive functionality, an integral HDLC controller, and generates/detects in-band loop codes.

This transceiver contains large path and line error counters, including BPV, CV, CRC6, and framing bit errors. It is pin-compatible with the DS2154 E1 transceiver. The DS2152L operates on a 5V supply, utilizes low-power CMOS technology, and comes in a 100-pin LQFP package measuring 14mm x 14mm.

Available in two temperature ranges, 0°C to +70°C and -40°C to +85°C, the DS2152L is suitable for various environmental conditions. Its surface mountable design and robust feature set make it a versatile component for telecommunications applications.
