DMR08

The APEM Inc. DMR08 is a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) Dual In-line Package (DIP) switch featuring 8 positions. Designed for modern electronics manufacturing, it is suitable for surface mount (SMT) assembly with gull wing termination style. This switch operates reliably within a temperature range of -20°C to 85°C.

Key electrical specifications include a contact rating of 25mA at 24VDC for switching operations and a non-switching rating of 100mA at 50VDC. The contact resistance is a maximum of 50 milliohms initially, increasing to 100 milliohms after its rated electrical life of 2000 cycles. Insulation resistance is a minimum of 100 Megohms at 500 VDC, with a dielectric strength of 500 VAC for one minute.

Mechanically, the DMR08 has a pitch of 2.54mm (0.100 inches) and a height above the board of 0.146 inches (3.70mm). It is designed with a slide actuator and can be recessed or flush. The contact material is gold-plated copper alloy, and the terminals are also gold-plated brass, ensuring good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The base and cover materials are specified as UL94V-0, glass fiber filled PBT or PPS, black, and actuators are UL94V-0 Nylon, white.

This DIP switch is compatible with wave soldering processes up to 260°C for 5 seconds and hand soldering up to 350°C for 2 seconds. While not explicitly marked as washable, the datasheet notes tape seal compatibility for spray washing from the top side.
