The BAS116GWX is a low leakage switching diode designed for general-purpose switching and low-leakage applications. It features a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 85V and a maximum reverse voltage of 75V. The device can handle an average forward current of 215mA and a non-repetitive peak forward current of 4A (1µs pulse). Its low leakage current is typically 3pA at 75V, making it suitable for battery-powered and precision circuits. The reverse recovery time is typically 0.8µs, allowing for efficient switching. The diode is AEC-Q101 qualified, making it suitable for automotive applications.
The diode is packaged in a small SOD123 surface-mount package, ideal for compact PCB designs. The junction temperature range is up to 150°C, and thermal resistance from junction to ambient is 350K/W on standard FR4 PCB. For improved thermal performance, a larger cathode pad can reduce the thermal resistance to 210K/W. The SOD123 package features a gull-wing lead style for reliable solder joints.
Typical applications include low-leakage current circuits, general-purpose switching, and automotive electronics. The device's low capacitance of 2pF at 0V also makes it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
