Microchip Technology ATtiny261A-MU is an 8-bit AVR microcontroller featuring high performance and low power consumption. It offers 2KB of in-system self-programmable Flash memory, 128B of SRAM, and 128B of EEPROM with high endurance (10,000 write/erase cycles for Flash, 100,000 for EEPROM). The device operates at clock speeds up to 20MHz at 4.5V–5.5V, and supports lower speeds at reduced voltages. It is housed in a 32-lead VFQFN exposed pad package (32-VQFN 5x5mm) for surface mount assembly.
The microcontroller includes a rich set of peripherals: a 10-bit ADC with 11 single-ended channels, 16 differential pairs (15 with programmable gain), an on-chip analog comparator, and two timer/counters with PWM outputs. It supports USI for serial communication and features a debugWIRE interface for on-chip debugging. Additional features include brown-out detection, power-on reset, a watchdog timer, and an internal temperature sensor.
With an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C and supply voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V, the ATtiny261A-MU is suitable for a wide range of embedded applications. Its low power consumption (200 µA active at 1MHz, 1.8V; 0.1 µA in power-down mode) makes it ideal for battery-powered and power-sensitive designs.
