The APA501-80-003 is a vertical fin heatsink designed for use with Artesyn AMPSS (Astec Modular Power Supply System) power modules. It measures 115mm wide, 59mm deep, and 22.5mm tall, providing a free air thermal resistance of 2.2°C/W. The vertical fin orientation optimizes natural convection cooling in many orientations.
This heatsink is intended for through-hole mounting and is part of the AMPSS accessory family, which includes various sizes and fin styles to match different module configurations. The 80 size designation corresponds to the module width, ensuring proper thermal interface.
For reliable thermal management, the baseplate and heatsink must be connected to protective earth. A mounting kit (sold separately) provides the most convenient way to attach the heatsink to the module and secure the assembly to the circuit board.
