The AD7880BR is a 12-bit, successive-approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices, designed for single +5 V supply operation. It features a 66 kHz throughput rate and a typical conversion time of 12 µs, supported by a 3 µs on-chip track-and-hold amplifier. With a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 70 dB, it provides reliable performance for data acquisition systems.
This ADC accepts two single-ended analog inputs and provides digital output through a parallel data interface. It includes a power-save mode, reducing power dissipation from 25 mW typical in normal operation to just 2 mW typical in power-save mode. The architecture uses a 1:1 S/H to ADC ratio with a single A/D converter.
The AD7880BR is specified over an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is housed in a 24-pin SOIC (0.295" body width, 7.50 mm pitch) surface-mount package. The supply voltage is 5 V for the analog supply.
