The 74HC393D is a high-speed CMOS dual 4-bit binary counter from Nexperia. It is designed using silicon gate C2MOS technology, achieving high-speed operation comparable to LSTTL while maintaining low CMOS power dissipation. This integrated circuit contains two independent counter circuits, enabling counting or frequency division of up to eight binary bits within a single package.
The device operates over a wide voltage range of 2.0 V to 6.0 V and features a maximum clock frequency of 72 MHz at 5 V. It exhibits low power dissipation with a maximum quiescent current of 4.0 µA at 25 °C. The counter changes state on the negative-going transition of the clock pulse and can be reset to '0' by a high signal at the CLR input, irrespective of other inputs. All inputs are protected against static discharge and transient excess voltage.
Packaged in a 14-pin SOIC, the 74HC393D is suitable for applications requiring efficient counting or frequency division. Its operating temperature range is -40 °C to 125 °C, applicable for products manufactured after July 2020. The balanced propagation delays (tPLH ≈ tPHL) ensure consistent performance.
