The 15KPA170A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It offers a peak pulse power dissipation of 15000W (15kW) under 10/1000μs waveform, with a steady state power dissipation of 8W. The device features a reverse stand-off voltage of 170V and a clamping voltage of 272.7V at a peak pulse current of 55.4A. It can handle a peak forward surge current of 400A (8.3ms single half sine wave).
The diode utilizes a glass passivated chip junction in a P600 axial through-hole package, providing fast response time typically less than 1ps. It is suitable for general purpose applications including I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
The 15KPA170A is RoHS3 compliant, halogen free, and UL recognized (V-0 flammability). It is lead-free with Pb-free E3 termination finish. This component is ideal for lightning surge protection and ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2.
