The thermometer has a measuring range of -5 ... +5 °C (-58 … 932 °F) and an adjustable emission value between .1 ... 1.. In addition to the current reading, the largest, smallest, average and differential reading can be displayed. This means that the infrared thermometer can be used for many measuring tasks to determine the surface temperature. The multi-point laser on the infrared thermometer is used to align the measuring spot. The measuring spot ratio of the infrared thermometer is 12:1.
Any alarm limit values can be stored on the thermometer for checking temperatures. When exceeding or falling below an alarm limit value, the infrared thermometer automatically triggers an acoustic and visual alarm.
In addition to the normal temperature measurement, the thermometer has two LED rings, each with 5 LEDs. The blue LED ring on the infrared thermometer is used to find leaks in, for example, air conditioning systems that are provided with a contrast agent. The surroundings can be illuminated with the white LED ring on the infrared thermometer.

The leak detector is used in various areas of industry. For example, the leak detector is used on compressed air, gas, steam and vacuum systems, as well as on refrigeration systems and door seals. The working frequency of the leak detector is 4 kHz (± 2 kHz). The soundproof headphones on the leak detector ensure that it can also be used in extremely noisy environments. The leak detector is used wherever gases can escape from leaks in piping systems. The noises caused by the outflow are often in the ultrasonic range and are therefore imperceptible to the human ear.
The leak detector picks up this ultrasound via the sonic funnel and converts the inaudible ultrasound into audible frequencies. The laser pointer built into the leak detector enables the leak to be precisely targeted. The leak detector's horn has been designed to be able to pick up sound waves and focus them in such a way that it acts like a directional microphone and suppresses other noise.

The moisture balance has a moisture measuring range of … 1%. The moisture balance is operated via the 5" touchscreen. To determine the moisture content with the moisture balance, a sample is evenly distributed on the sample pan. The sample pan is then placed in the moisture balance and sealed. After setting all parameters, the moisture balance starts the measurement. The accuracy of the moisture scale is ±.3 g. The moisture balance is therefore a precise measuring device.
The moisture balance determines the moisture content via the measured weight difference, based on the weight before and after drying the sample. The adjustable temperature range for the moisture balance is between 4 ... 165 °C / 14 ... 329 °F . A specific drying temperature can thus be selected for the sample in the moisture balance. The drying temperature is generated by means of a built-in halogen lamp with a diameter of 9 mm / 3.5".
Due to the drying process of the sample, the moisture balance can be used in many areas. Thus, the moisture balance is used in laboratories, for example, to measure the moisture of different powders, in final quality control to determine the moisture of granules or in agriculture or the agricultural sector to determine the moisture content of oats, grain or wheat.
The measured values can be transferred to a PC and analyzed via the RS-232 Modbus interface on the moisture balance. Suitable software is optionally available for the moisture balance. A measurement curve is created in the software for the moisture balance. After a measurement, the measured values can be saved and forwarded by the moisture balance. If required, the moisture balance can be equipped with an optional ISO calibration certificate.

The absolute moisture meter has a measuring range of ... 1% absolute humidity. The absolute moisture meter is operated via the 5" large touchscreen. To measure the moisture content with the absolute moisture meter, a sample is evenly distributed on the sample pan. The sample pan is then placed and sealed in the absolute moisture meter. After setting all parameters, the absolute moisture meter begins the measurement.
The absolute moisture meter determines the moisture content based on the measured weight difference, relative to the weight before and after drying the sample. The adjustable temperature range for the absolute moisture meter is between 4 ... 165 °C. Thus, a specific drying temperature for the sample can be selected with the absolute moisture meter. The generated drying temperature is produced by a built-in halogen lamp with a diameter of 9 mm.
The drying process of the sample makes the absolute moisture meter usable in various fields. Thus, the absolute moisture meter finds its application, for example, in laboratories to measure the moisture of different powders, in quality control to determine the moisture of granules, or on farms to determine the moisture content of oats, grains, or wheat.
A major advantage over devices using capacitive measuring methods is that the absolute moisture meter operates independently of characteristic curves and provides more accurate results.
The measured values can be transferred to a PC via the Serial RS232 interface of the absolute moisture meter for analysis. A suitable software is available optionally for the absolute moisture meter. If required, the absolute moisture meter can be supplied with an ISO calibration certificate.

The melt index tester from PCE Instruments is used for rapid testing of the melt mass flow rate of plastics. The melt index tester is designed for incoming goods inspection as well as for continuous production monitoring. Due to the clear presentation of all relevant parameters on the 7 "touch display, the measurement results can be determined in a short time with the help of the melt index tester. The automatic cutting function also contributes to the high reproducibility of the melt flow index test carried out with this device.
The already stored standard plastic materials save the user of the melt index tester tedious configuration processes; these include: PS, PP, PE, ABS, PC, PMMA and many more. In addition to the already integrated standard plastics, the test temperatures and test weights are stored in the melt index tester in compliance with the standard (ISO 1133). Non-stored materials with material-specific parameters can be permanently added and saved in the melt index tester at any time.
Melt Flow Tester in application in the plastic production. The melt index tester is therefore ideal for determining the melt flow index, which provides the information about the flow behaviour or the viscosity of the plastic materials at different temperatures and pressures. During this test in compliance with ISO 1133, the mostly granular sample is placed in a preheated cylinder and heated at a material-specific temperature. A piston with a defined mass, due to its own weight, afterwards presses the liquid melt through a nozzle with a defined diameter. After a specified period of time, the measurement on the melt index tester is stopped and the mass, that has been flowing through the nozzle, is determined by means of the analytical balances, as a result the mass / time value (g / 10min) is obtained, which is also referred to as the MFI value. The melt flow index is determined in order to examine and study the flow behaviour of thermoplastics. Due to the flow behaviour, the degree of polymerization can be derived, which on the other hand has an influence on the later mechanical properties of the molded plastic. Since plastics are sometimes sensitive to moisture, the increased moisture in the granules during the melting process during injection molding can lead to the shortened molecular chains and thus to poorer mechanical properties. It is therefore necessary to dry the granules to a suitable level of moisture before injection molding in order to avoid later quality losses on the finished product.
The melt index tester from PCE Instruments is therefore a very suitable tool for determining the melt mass flow rate for a wide variety of thermoplastic materials. In this way, even before the production, the important parameters for the subsequent manufacturing can be determined and adjusted if necessary. Thus, the melt index tester contributes to quality improvement in the production process, reduces the reject rate and thus contributes to a sustainable cost reduction.
