The XTR108EA from B&B Smartworx is a smart, programmable, 4-20mA, two-wire transmitter designed for temperature and bridge sensors. This device offers a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
Calibration of zero, span, and linearization errors is performed via a standard digital serial interface, eliminating the need for manual trimming. Non-volatile external EEPROM stores these calibration settings. The all-analog signal path includes an input multiplexer, an autozeroed programmable-gain instrumentation amplifier, dual programmable current sources, a linearization circuit, a voltage reference, a sub-regulator, an internal oscillator, control logic, and an output current amplifier. Programmable level shifting compensates for sensor DC offsets.
The XTR108EA is housed in a SSOP-24 package with dimensions of 51.9 mm² (8.65 mm × 6 mm). Its applications include remote RTD transmitters, pressure bridge transmitters, strain gage transmitters, SCADA remote data acquisition, weighing systems, and industrial process control.
