The Microchip Technology XS8805AQR-H is a 1 Kbit Serial EEPROM that uses the industry-standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) compatible serial bus. The device is organized as a single block of 128 x 8-bit memory, making it suitable for applications requiring reliable nonvolatile memory storage.
This EEPROM supports SPI modes 0 and 3 and can operate at clock frequencies up to 20 MHz. It features self-timed erase and write cycles with a maximum duration of 5 ms. Power consumption is optimized, with read and write currents at 5mA maximum at 5 MHz, and a standby current of 3.5 uA maximum at 5 V.
Write protection features include software control to protect portions or the entire memory array, and a hardware write protect pin for added security of the status register. The device offers more than 1 million erase/write cycles and data retention for 100 years.
Available in various temperature ranges, including Automotive Grade 1 (-40°C to 125°C), Automotive Grade 2 (-40°C to 105°C), and Automotive Grade 3 / Industrial (-40°C to 85°C). It is housed in a space-saving 8-UFDFN Exposed Pad package, suitable for surface mount applications.
