In the transmit direction, the XRT7300IV encodes data into B3ZS or HDB3 formats and converts it into appropriate pulse shapes for transmission over coaxial cable. The receiver performs equalization, clock recovery, decoding from B3ZS or HDB3 formats, and checks for line code violations. It also includes a 4-wire microprocessor serial interface for accessing on-chip command registers.

 

Key features include support for E3/DS3/STS-1 jitter tolerance requirements, full loop-back capability, transmit and receive power-down modes, and full redundancy support. The device requires a single +5V power supply and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
