The Intersil X28C256J is a byte alterable E2PROM with a capacity of 32K x 8 bits, operating at a 5-volt supply.
This component features robust data protection mechanisms, including hardware and software controls. Hardware features include noise protection, where write cycles are not initiated by WE pulses shorter than 20ns, and a default VCC sense that inhibits write functions when the supply voltage drops below 3.5V.
