VSC7385XYV

The VSC7385XYV from Vitesse Semiconductor is a 5-port integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch, part of the SparX-G5 family. It offers nonblocking wire-speed performance across all 5 ports, with each port supporting tri-speed (10/100/1000 Mbps) copper transceivers compliant with IEEE 802.3ab. The device includes a 96 KB on-chip frame buffer, eliminating the need for external buffer memory and reducing system costs.

This switch supports advanced management options, including selection between an on-chip 8051 CPU or an off-chip 8-bit CPU for fully managed applications. It handles jumbo frames up to 9.6K and provides programmable QoS classification supporting IEEE Std 802.1p and DSCP for IPv4 and IPv6, with 8 classes of service. Other features include 8K MAC addresses, 4K VLANs (IEEE Std 802.1Q), flexible link aggregation compliant to IEEE Std 802.3ad, and integrated oscillator circuitry.

The VSC7385XYV is designed for applications such as 5-port unmanaged or web-managed Gigabit Ethernet SMB/SOHO switches, and 4-port LAN switches with a 1-port WAN broadband router. It incorporates Vitesse VeriPHY™ cable diagnostics and SimpliPHY™ magnetics technology for simplified design and cost reduction. The switch supports multiple protocols including IEEE Std 802.1D, 802.1w, 802.1s, and 802.1X.
