The CUI Inc. VSBU-120C-15 is an open frame AC/DC converter delivering a nominal 15 Vdc output at up to 8 A (120 W). It accepts a universal input voltage range of 90 to 264 Vac at 47 to 63 Hz, with a maximum input current of 1.75 A at 100 Vac and 0.72 A at 240 Vac. Inrush current is limited to 37 A at 100 Vac and 88 A at 240 Vac (cold start). Active power factor correction achieves a typical value of 0.95 at 240 Vac full load.
Output ripple and noise is 150 mVp-p maximum, with typical efficiency of 78%. Line regulation is 1% maximum, load regulation 5% maximum (10-90% load at 230 Vac). Transient response recovers within 4 ms for a full load to half load step at 110 Vac. Start-up time is 3 s maximum, hold-up time 16 ms minimum at 100 Vac full load. Protections include over voltage (112-132%), over current (110-150% auto recovery), and short circuit (auto recovery). Isolation is 4242 Vdc input-to-output and 2121 Vdc input-to-earth ground.
The converter is safety approved to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 with CE and cURus marks. EMI meets CISPR-32/EN 55032 Class B. Leakage current is 0.75 mA at 240 Vac full load. MTBF is 100,000 hours per MIL-HDBK-217F at 25°C. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C with derating; storage temperature -40°C to 85°C. Humidity range is 0-95% non-condensing. Dimensions are 127.0 x 76.2 x 33.5 mm. Mounting is chassis mount with an open frame design. Intended for ITE (commercial) applications.
