The VS-UFB280FA40 is an insulated ultrafast rectifier module from Vishay General Semiconductor - Diodes Division. It integrates two independent ultrafast recovery rectifiers in a compact, industry-standard SOT-227 package. The module is rated for a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 400V and delivers an average forward current of 280A per module at a case temperature of 90°C. Each diode supports a continuous forward current of 170A and a non-repetitive peak forward current of 1300A.
The device features a fast recovery speed with a reverse recovery time of 93 ns. The forward voltage is typically 1.06V at 100A and 25°C, and 0.85V at 175°C. Reverse leakage current is a maximum of 50 µA at rated voltage and 25°C. The module is designed for chassis mount applications and offers an RMS isolation voltage of 2500V from any terminal to case. The operating junction temperature range is -55 to +175°C.
This module is optimized for power conversion applications such as welding machines and industrial SMPS. The ultrafast, soft recovery characteristics reduce EMI and switching losses. The fully insulated package simplifies mounting and heat sinking.
