The VS-15ETU12-M3 is an ultrafast recovery rectifier from Vishay's FRED Pt® family, designed for high-efficiency power conversion. It features a planar structure with polyimide passivation and platinum-doped lifetime control for ruggedness and reliability. Key electrical specifications include a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 1200V, average rectified forward current of 15A at TC=115°C, and a typical forward voltage drop of 2.25V at 125°C. The reverse recovery time is 44ns typical, enabling high-frequency operation. The device can handle non-repetitive peak surge currents up to 150A and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to +175°C. Packaged in a TO-220AC 2L through-hole package, it offers good thermal performance. Typical applications include boost stages in AC/DC SMPS, high-frequency output rectification in battery chargers, inverter stages in solar inverters, and freewheeling diodes in motor drives.
