The VS-12FL60S02 is a fast recovery rectifier diode from Vishay's VS-12FL(R) series. It is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600V and an average forward current of 12A at a case temperature of 100°C with 180° conduction. The diode offers a typical forward voltage of 1.4V at 12A and a typical reverse recovery time of 200ns, making it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
This device is housed in a standard DO-203AA (DO-4) stud mount package, allowing for chassis mounting with excellent thermal management. It can withstand non-repetitive surge currents up to 145A (10ms half sine) and has an I²t rating of 103 A²s for fusing considerations. The operating junction temperature range spans from -65°C to 150°C.
Typical applications include DC power supplies, inverters, converters, choppers, ultrasonic systems, and freewheeling diodes. The diode's fast recovery characteristics and low stored charge contribute to reduced switching losses in power conversion circuits.
