VNQ5E050K-E Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The VNQ5E050K-E from STMicroelectronics is a quad channel high-side driver utilizing VIPower™ M0-5 technology, housed in a PowerSSO-24 package. This device is engineered for driving automotive grounded loads, providing comprehensive protection and diagnostic capabilities.

Key features include inrush current active management by power limitation, very low standby current, and 3.0 V CMOS compatible inputs. It offers optimized electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility. The driver integrates advanced protective functions such as load current limitation, over-temperature shut-off with auto-restart, and over-voltage active clamp.

Diagnostic functions are enhanced with an open drain status output for each channel, enabling detection of open loads in both on-state and off-state, output short to Vcc, overload, and short to ground. Thermal shutdown indication is also provided. The device operates within a voltage range of 4.5V to 28V, with a maximum transient supply voltage of 41V. The on-state resistance is a maximum of 50mOhm per channel, and the typical current limitation is 27A.

Designed for surface mounting, the VNQ5E050K-E is suitable for various automotive applications involving resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads. Its robust design ensures reliability in demanding environments.
