The TE Connectivity VERSAFIT-3/32-2-SP is a highly flame-retardant, heat-shrinkable tubing designed for commercial and military applications. Made from a specially formulated, crosslinked polyolefin, it provides excellent flexibility and a low shrink temperature for reduced installation time.
This tubing is suitable for electrically insulating and protecting in-line components, disconnect terminals, and splices. It can also be used to bundle wires for light-duty harnesses or to identify or color-code wires and cables. The Versafit tubing hot-stamps extremely well.
Key specifications include an operating temperature range of -55°C to 135°C, a full recovery temperature of 90°C, and a shrink temperature of 70°C. It features a 2:1 shrinkage ratio, an inner diameter of 0.046" (1.17mm) as supplied, and a recovered wall thickness of 0.020" (0.51mm). The material is polyolefin (PO) and it is rated as flame retardant (VW-1).
Unlike some other flame-retardant tubings, Versafit tubing is free of polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated biphenyl oxides and ethers (PBBOs/PBBEs), which are classified as environmentally hazardous substances in Europe. It has a shelf life of 144 months and should be stored between 18°C and 35°C.
