The TE Connectivity VERSAFIT-1/2-9-SP is a highly flame-retardant, heat-shrinkable tubing designed for commercial and military applications. Made from a specially formulated, crosslinked polyolefin, it provides excellent flexibility and a low shrink temperature for reduced installation time.
This tubing electrically insulates and protects in-line components, disconnect terminals, and splices. It can also be used to bundle wires for light-duty harnesses or to identify cables and components. The Versafit tubing hot-stamps extremely well.
Key specifications include an operating temperature range of -55°C to 135°C, a full recovery temperature of 90°C, and a shrink temperature of 70°C. It features a 2:1 shrinkage ratio, an expanded inner diameter of 0.250" (6.35mm), and a recovered wall thickness of 0.025" (0.64mm). The material is polyolefin, and it meets VW-1 flame retardance standards. This specific part is white in color and has a shelf life of 144 months.
Unlike other typical flame-retardant tubings, Versafit tubing is free of polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated biphenyl oxides and ethers (PBBOs/PBBEs), which are classified as environmentally hazardous substances in Europe.
