The Vishay VEMD8080 is a Silicon PIN photodiode with enhanced sensitivity for visible light, suitable for detecting visible and near-infrared radiation. It offers fast response times of 70ns and a wide spectral range from 350nm to 1100nm.
This photodiode has a maximum reverse voltage rating of 20V and a typical operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The active sensing area is 4.6 mm², and it has an angle of half sensitivity of ±65°.
The VEMD8080 is housed in a low-profile, top-view, 8-SMD, No Lead surface-mount package, making it suitable for compact designs. Its features make it ideal for high-speed photo detection applications, including wearables.
