The Vicor VE-RAM-I1 is a Ripple Attenuator Module (RAM) that functions as an output filter for VI-200 or VI-J00 converters, FlatPACs, ComPACs, or MegaMods. It is designed to limit total output noise to less than 3mV peak-to-peak at loads up to 20A. Combining active and passive filtering, the RAM attenuates both low-frequency input power source harmonics and high-frequency switching components in the frequency range of DC to 20MHz.
This module exhibits high efficiencies ranging from 93% to 99%. No adjustments are required, and remote sense and output voltage trim features are retained. The VE-RAM-I1 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +100°C and supports currents up to 10A. It provides a flexible, component-level solution for clean power requirements, eliminating penalties associated with linear power sources or external add-on filters for conventional switchers.
Designed for power systems architects, the VE-RAM-I1 integrates seamlessly into existing power architectures. Its primary function is to ensure clean power output, making it suitable for applications demanding low noise and high performance. The module's design facilitates ease of integration without compromising system stability or efficiency.
