The Vicor VE-RAM-E1 is a Ripple Attenuator Module (RAM) designed to work with VI-200 or VI-J00 converters, FlatPACs, ComPACs, or MegaMods. It effectively limits total output noise to less than 3mV peak-to-peak at loads up to 20A.
Combining active and passive filtering, the RAM attenuates both low-frequency input power source harmonics and high-frequency switching components in the frequency range of DC to 20MHz. It exhibits efficiencies between 93% and 99%, requiring no adjustments and retaining remote sense and output voltage trim features.
This component-level solution provides power systems architects with a flexible way to achieve clean power, eliminating the penalties associated with linear power sources or external add-on filters for conventional switchers. The VE-RAM-E1 operates within a temperature range of -10°C to +100°C and supports currents up to 10A.
