The Vishay Dale VCAN16A2-03G-E3-08 is a bidirectional, symmetrical, low capacitance, dual-line ESD protection diode housed in a compact SOT-323 package. Designed for CAN applications, it provides robust protection with a working range of ±16V and a breakdown voltage of 28V.
This device features a peak pulse current capability of 5A (8/20 μs) and a peak pulse power of 140W. Its low leakage current is less than 0.05 μA, and it has a low load capacitance of less than 17 pF at 1 MHz. The diode offers ESD immunity up to ±30 kV contact discharge and ±30 kV air discharge, meeting IEC 61000-4-2 standards. It also boasts an ESD capability of > 8 kV according to AEC-Q101 human body model.
With a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, the VCAN16A2-03G-E3-08 is suitable for demanding environments. The SOT-323 package is surface mountable, making it convenient for integration into various electronic designs. The pins are plated with tin (Sn), and the component is AEC-Q101 qualified, indicating its suitability for automotive and high-reliability applications.
