The Vishay V40100C-M3/4W is a dual common cathode Schottky rectifier employing Trench MOS Barrier Schottky (TMBS) technology. It is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 100V and an average forward current of 40A per device (20A per diode). The device features a low forward voltage drop of 0.61V typical at 20A and 125°C, and can handle a peak forward surge current of 250A. The high dV/dt capability of 10,000 V/µs makes it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
Typical applications include high-frequency DC/DC converters, switching power supplies, freewheeling diodes, OR-ing diodes, and reverse battery protection. The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to +150°C, and the storage temperature range is -55°C to +150°C.
The device is packaged in a TO-220AB (TO-220-3) through-hole package with matte tin plated leads. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The M3 suffix indicates halogen-free and RoHS compliant (RoHS3) construction.
