The Littelfuse V100ZA3 is a metal-oxide varistor (MOV) from the ZA series, designed for transient voltage surge suppression in low and medium-voltage circuits. It features a typical varistor voltage of 100V at 1mA, with a range of 90V to 110V. The device can handle maximum continuous AC voltage of 60V and DC voltage of 81V. It is rated for a peak pulse current of 1.2kA (8/20µs waveform) and can absorb 5J of energy (10/1000µs waveform). Typical capacitance is 600pF at 1MHz.
The V100ZA3 operates over an ambient temperature range of -55°C to 85°C and can be stored from -55°C to 125°C. It has a temperature coefficient of clamping voltage less than 0.01%/°C. The encapsulation provides a minimum hi-pot isolation voltage of 2500V DC and coating insulation resistance of 1000MΩ.
Packaged in a Disc 7mm form factor with through hole radial leads, this varistor is suitable for hard-wired or printed circuit board mounting. The ZA series is available in multiple disc sizes and lead form options. The device is lead-free, halogen-free, and RoHS compliant per the datasheet.
Typical applications include motor control, telecom, solenoid, and power supply circuits where protection of circuit board components and data integrity is required.
